BUS Methodology

Building Understanding is delighted have become a member of the BUS Methodology Partner Network. We can now offer this methodology and its benchmarking benefits as part of our suite of Post Occupancy Evaluation services.

The BUS Methodology is a post-occupancy evaluation tool, involving self-completion questionnaires and offering benchmarking against appropriate standards for the building type and geographical location. It is a recognised approach for post-occupancy evaluation, contributing towards BREEAM, LEED, WELL Standard, NABERS and Soft Landings.

The BUS Methodology has been created from thirty years of continuous development in building use studies. Buildings in use can be more complicated than many people realise, with a host of variables that are constantly changing. The BUS Methodology helps to capture as much of this complexity as possible without overwhelming occupants with too many questions. It highlights both good and less favourable aspects of building performance.
